Wendy Glasscock Named "Windfern Teacher of the Year"

January 18, 2019

Congratulations to Wendy Glasscock the 2019 Windfern School of Choice Teacher of the Year!

Ms. Glasscock moved to Houston from Mississippi when she was 10 years old. She attended Dean Jr. High and graduated from JVHS in 1987. Following high school, Ms. Glasscock attended Texas A&M and graduated four years later in 1991, with a bachelor’s in science in Secondary Education with a Social Studies Composite. After graduation from A&M, an interview with CFISD landed her a job to teach 7th grade Texas History at Cook Middle School.

After staying home 17 years to raise her children Ms. Glasscock decided to return to teaching and focus on my career. Her first and only interview was with the Administrators at Windfern High School, one of them was her former 11th grade English teacher, Martha Strother, who also happened to be the person who inspired Ms. Glasscock to become a teacher. Thrilled to be offered the job to teach at what is now named Windfern School of Choice, Ms. Glasscock loves the family-like atmosphere. The small class size allows her to bond with students while also catering to each student’s individual needs and learning style. The environment at Windfern, along with the amazing staff and students, allows Ms. Glasscock the ability to be the teacher she always wanted to be.

Ms. Glasscock, you are the best!
